Living Soil
Healthy, living soil in the vineyard that fulfils its natural life functions results in an individual wine shaped by the terroir. The winemaker's work using all natural methods encourages life in the soil and makes the soil’s minerals available to the vine.
“Our principle is the understanding and treatment of the soil as a living organism = terroir”

Our goal is a balanced healthy soil achieved through humus build-up and targeted plant nutrition and strengthening.

By feeding the microorganisms and fungi with fermented rye with stone flour and with the various greening mixtures.

My personal method to healthy soil

The biodynamic preparations support the interaction of vine and soil and thus help us to produce individual and distinctive wines.

Fermented rye is a natural fertilizer that is grown on our own fields. This feeds soil life and provides nutrients to the vine.

Earthworm-humus is turned into compost-tea in a brewer. This is then sprayed onto the vineyard soil, increasing microbial diversity.

A diverse mixture of different plant species supports the biodiversity in our vineyards. This diversity provides habitat for many creatures and supports the health of the vine.

Fresh, green herbs and grasses are processed into fermented plant extracts. This extract is applied to the green leaves of the vine. It supports the vine's resistance to diseases.
